LASER ENGRAVING

SALECERT

WHAT IS LASER ENGRAVING?

Laser Engraving is a process of using a powerful, but precise laser to burn/cut away material.  The depths of the cutting is determined by the focal length of the laser where the heat/power is most intense. The laser is powerful enough to engrave metal in a matter of moments. This is slightly different than Laser Etching (which we also provide) – where only a thin layer of surface material is removed.

The pattern is created by our artists (or supplied by the client). The image is converted to a vector image and then imported in the controller. The laser cutter then follows the precise pattern. Because there are no moving parts there is nothing that can be dulled or drift away from true which ensures high consistency, precision and quality.

Laser Engraving Applications

There are three main applications for laser engraving

  • Decorative
  • Identification
  • Functional

Often an item will have all three

Decorative applications are a great way to customize items and the patterns, pictures and logos we can apply are virtually limitless.  What’s more is that we can also apply Cerakote  to the etched or engraved image to further enhance/beautify the design. The combination of these applications is simply stunning.

Identification is another common and important application of Laser Engraving, particularly for weapons (for regulatory reasons) or for unique and valuable items that require the clear establishment of ownership. Unlike other markings, laser engraved identification are extremely difficult to remove or modify.

Laser Etching can also be used for functional enhancements, the most common of which is grip improvement. We can apply stippling or even a repeat graphic pattern that enhances functionality and appearance.

What makes Laser Engraving from ThreatWerx different?

Aside from our training (see below), ThreatWerx is unique in our ability to combine an array of applications such as Cerakote and Hydro-dip, that in combination with Laser Engraving and Laser Etching, provide stunning results that are not possible with single applications.

Our Team is professionally trained!

Our customer’s trust us with items that are valuable and in some cases, very unique. We also have to conform to federal laws for proper weapon identification to protect the rights of our customers.

To ensure that we meet this high standard and earn our customers trust, our entire team completed an intensive on-site training course with the Laser Engraver manufacture.  Only a hand full of shops in the country can claim to have a trained operator and, in many cases, a single person gets trained and then comes back home to train the rest of the operators.

We actually sent our entire team to make sure that every Laser Engraving is done by a trained professional.
